If your organization uses Work Permits then you can turn this functionality on using this setting:

Important: Administrators must also run and regularly schedule a new SAP job to populate and update this information. Updates to Equipment permits will update the permit information without the scheduled job, FL permit updates, without other elements being updated, will not. That's because SAP is not recognizing changes of this nature for FL updates - hence the need to regularly run this job (if Permits are used on FL's).
