Introduction

The Inspection Analytics provides summary operational information on Inspections.

Business and SAP Context

In many cases analytics in SAP have traditionally been based on snap shots of time based data (for example the Logistics Info System). For Inspections analysis we took the approach of being able to use real time data so as not to have to wait to build up time based analytical data. As a consequence, our major focus is on showing what Inspections are Completed or Not complete as at the date of running a report and the date of transition between these two states.  So, for example, we report when an Inspection went from Created (Incomplete) to Complete; and In Progress (Incomplete) to Complete; but not from Created to In Progress (both treated as Not Complete).

Important Information

All dates (search and display) are in SAP system date timezone.

Search Section

This screen section is used to enter the criteria to analyze Inspection over:

The following screen fields and controls are defined, where not documented they are considered self explanatory or are explained elsewhere:

Field/ ControlExplanation/ Use
Open atDate range to analyze Inspections that were Open for. Defaults to 1 month from days <> today.

Recommend using small time periods, aligned to performance reporting, and not try to analyze too much data.
Maintenance PlantsSelect specific Maintenance Plants - based on the FL or Equipment's current Maintenance Plant. As previously explained this reporting is based on real time analysis so if an asset has shifted after an Inspection, it will be reported in it's current location.

Recommend align to performance reporting - which is often Plant based.
InspectionsSelect specific Inspections to report on - as required
Inspection RequiredSelect only those Inspections that are required to be performed. It's likely that for most regulatory inspection with will be ON
Order Inspections OnlyExclude any 'adhoc' Inspections that users have created directly against assets and without the use of a Work Order.
Include all Open InspectionsIf switched On the analysis will include all open inspections. If Off the analysis will only include Inspections created and open within the Open at time period.
