Application Configuration Steps

This page provides guidance on the ordered steps to be undertaken to set up BlueWorx. It should be undertaken after the base technical installation and configuration has been complected, as documented in the article/s 3 - Neptune Cockpit Configuration - Neptune Version 5+

Maintain Core Settings
In this area you will maintain many of the core settings used by the system. There are eight relevant tabs here which contain a reasonable number of configuration options.

Review the online documentation to understand the influence of each setting however the key one to get you up and operating is the following:
  • Order Tab - User Assignment. This controls how users received allocated Orders. It should be set according to your companies procedures. If these are still evolving then you can temporarily use the BlueWorx Header or Operational Work Centre assignments.

7Maintain Online SAP Smart Form Reports
Controls what forms users can call from the device to generate a PDF from SAP with data relevant to the object (Equip, FL, Order, Noti) they are looking at.

Material Profiles

Here you optionally maintain material profiles that are added to User Profiles and control what materials are transferred to the users device when they Sync.

Note that a separate schedule task is used to populate the sync tables associated with these profiles.

User Profiles

Here you maintain what information users receive on their device when they Sync.

Note that you have to generate/regenerate the profile after creation/ change as described in the instructions. Large profiles should be generated/ regenerated outside of business hours where possible to avoid peak system load and end user disruption.

Maintain user records for BlueWorx. Assign profiles that dictate what information they receive on Sync. Optionally assign work centers if using associated Order Assignment type; assign Crew Work Centers to supervisors is using BlueWorx-Crew component.
