Product News - Support Pack 1 - February 2018

Improvements and New Features

This page provides selected updates on some new/ improved functionality delivered in Support Pack 1 release. The intent being that we will provide regular release cycle updates to keep our MyPM customers and partners generally informed about available functionality. We provide a technical list of all changes here but here's a selection of some of the highlights:

Admin Export to and Import from CSV Files [MyPM Admin]

Improvement Opportunity

For MyPM Administrators it was slow to have to manually configure settings between SAP clients and systems. This also created an opportunity to induce errors.

Solution

We added multiple options to download screen data to csv files in the Administration application and, where appropriate upload files. This makes:

  • Transferring changes between instances easier.
  • Allows the creation of initial list to be done in xls (especially suitable for things like Inspection Templates and MyPM User accounts).
  • Allows us to provide more sample configuration data.

Bill of Material - BOM's

Improvement Opportunity

Customers needed to have access to Equipment and Functional Location BOM's.

Solution

Equipment and Functional Location BOM's are now exposed against the Functional Location and Equipment records.

Customer PDF Report [MyPM]

Improvement Opportunity

Different customers have different requirements for additional information and information time periods. For example: an operator may want to see all Work Orders in the last 12 months for all Objects in a Work Order; another may want the same but for 24 months and the details of all installations/ de-installations undertaken; another may want all that plus Notification history.

Solution

Based on a great idea from one of our MyPM customers we have included the ability to access customer SAP Smart Form reports for Orders, Notifications, Functional Locations and Equipment. This allows users to retrive additional information from SAP without needed to modify MyPM.

Example reports might be a full work order and notification history.

Documents [MyPM]

Improvement Opportunity

Customers wanted the ability to download and upload documents from SAP, and to then have these available offline.

Solution

We provided the ability to download and upload GOS documents (SAP Gneric Object Services) for Orders, Notifications, Functional Locations and Equipment - and take these offline once downloaded.

Inspection History [MyPM]

Improvement Opportunity

We were gathering great data on Inspections but weren't making it easily accessible to standard users.

Solution

We have provided improved access and functionality around the Inspection History and made this available, when online, from within the application. This means that from within a Technical Object you can, when connected to SAP, access all previous inspection results for that object, look at the results for other similar inspections and see the inspection results for other objects processed on the same Work Order. This information is also accessible from a separate Inspection Viewer application which through URL GOS association can be linked by customers to their technical objects. Its also accessible from MyPM Admin.

Material Search [MyPM]

Improvement Opportunity

The material search look up didn't provide the best user experience in terms of layout.

Solution

We changes the display for the materials search to improve the UX and added additional filter functionality.

Orders on Device [MyPM]

Improvement Opportunity

The Orders and Notifications were shared where on the device where the Users had the same profile.

Solution

Orders and Notifications are now specific to the user and not shared. The Outbox, for now, remains shared to eliminate data loss where a user surrenders their device with items pending processing in SAP.

Syncing [MyPM]

Improvement Opportunity

Syncing performance for large datasets left users waiting for too long, particularly on iOS.

Solution

We have dramatically improved the core logic in how syncing is processed on the device which reduces the processing time when synchronising large data sets.

SAP Web GUI Transactions [MyPM]

Improvement Opportunity

The opportunity existed to allow users to access SAP GUI for related transactions when they are in the browser version of MyPM.

Solution

When accessing MyPM from a web browser you can now launch SAP Web GUI transaction in MyPM associated with Orders, Notifications, Functional Locations, Equipment, Measurement Documents and Materials. It also works from MyPM Admin for Users and Material Balances. The following an an example of the Order Detail View:

This functionality is turned on in the MyPM Administration > Settings area:

User Profiles [MyPM Admin]

Improvement Opportunity

MyPM User allocation to profiles could only be controlled by MyPM Administrators. Traditional such roles are coordinated through SAP security personnel.

Solution

Like Neptune Software and thier access to apps, we have optionally provided the ability to link MyPM User profiles to standard SAP roles so that their allocation can follow standard SAP User maintenance processes. The existing direct assignment in MyPM admin is also maintained and both can work in tandem. Users must still be initially set up in MyPM:

User Sync Logs [MyPM Admin]

Improvement Opportunity

Customers wanted the MyPM Administrators to be be able see summarised Sync data and download this for further analysis. This was particularly important around app/ new users deployment time.

Solution

We improved the reporting of MyPM sync logs for administrators and now provide the ability to export the latest logs to csv file for external analysis and reporting:

We now provide additional detail on each Sync Log event to assist administrators and developers in understanding the exact sequence and progress of syncing with SAP:
